Celluplasty®, also known as 'Selective Dermatoplasty' or SDP, is a procedure that applies surgical and microsurgical techniques [sometimes combined with Mesotherapy] to eliminate or improve cellulite of varying degrees from thighs, hips, buttocks, and other areas of the body.
As a treatment modality offered at our practice, Celluplasty® modifies the collagen fibers' network that sustain superficial as well as deep skin tissues and that, sometimes gives the skin the appearance of "orange skin", with dimples, ripples, etc. This specialized treatment, by either relaxing or dividing a number of collagen fibers, would restore the skin's appearance to its natural smoothness...
Celluplasty® combines different plastic surgery techniques applied to treat a number of skin and subcutaneous tissues' conditions, such as the ones resulting from scar [or excessive fibrous tissue] formation after skin burns and/or deep lacerations, etc.
Skin grafting is the treatment of choice for extensive burns. Successful grafts must be treated with elastic bandage compression, sometimes for several months, in order for the skin to return to nearly normal appearance. However, it is often necessary to apply surgical techniques in order to modify or release subcutaneous fibrous bands that might affect the normal healing process. This approach has also been used to allow a near normal appearance of the skin tissues after repair of deep lacerations.
Celluplasty® uses a combination of several techniques used for the conditions mentioned above, plus the addition of new Mesotherapy techniques, using carefully selected medications that would relax, modify or divide the subcutaneous collagen fibers and other fibrous tissues that cause the appearance of cellulite, with 'dimples' and ripples.
